Introduction
Released in 2017 as a recreation of the original Grand Seiko timepieces that Seiko released back in 1960, the SBGW252 was amongst the very first set of limited edition timepieces that Grand Seiko ever produced. Sized like a typical dress watch, the SBGW252 features a round 38mm case that is just 10.7mm thick and a period-correct set of long angular lugs. Powered by the manually wound cal. 9S64 movement, the SBGW252 also features 72 hours of power reserve and remains linked to the original Grand Seiko watches that it is inspired by. With a stunning domed champagne dial with golden Grand Seiko inscriptions and applied hour markers, the SBGW252's dial is reminiscent of the dress watches of old, just like the rest of its construction and aesthetic.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Sized at 38mm in diameter, 10.7mm thick and worn on a leather strap, the SBGW252 fits fantastically on the wrist by perfect poise and elegance.

Condition
Overall condition is very good / excellent. Case has very light surface abrasions consistent with light use. Original strap is quite worn, and comes with the original buckle. Caseback engravings are all visible but photograph poorly as they are light, even as new from the factory.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, an alternative leather strap to the existing exotic version, shall be provided.
Our Perspective
Released in line with Grand Seiko's split from Seiko as its own brand, the SGBW252 is one of the earliest limited edition timepieces for Grand Seiko, with its production celebrating the watch that started the brand in the first place.
