Sized like a typical dress watch, the SBGW283 features a round 37.3mm stainless steel case that is just 11.6mm thick and a set of long angular lugs that feature polished bevels that sharpen-up its design. Powered by the manually wound cal. 9S64 movement, the SBGW283 features 72 hours of power reserve and remains linked to the original Grand Seiko watches that it is inspired by. With a stunning domed light blue ‘Kishun’ dial inspired by the gentle breeze and the blue sky specific to this the turning from Spring to Summer in Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture, where Grand Seiko mechanical models are manufactured, the SBGW283 celebrates nature at its finest. With almost no inscriptions besides Grand Seiko’s name under their applied logo and minute markers next to the applied hour markers, the SBGW283’s dial is reminiscent of the dress watches of old with its understated design, under-the-radar craftsmanship and gorgeous subtle texture across its surface.
