Launched as a way for Seiko to demonstrate that Swiss watchmaking was not the be-all-and-end-all of horology, Grand Seiko has grown into one of the most popular watchmakers in their world. Famed for their robust sports watches, elegant dress watches and iconic Spring Drive movement, they have put Japanese watchmaking firmly in the conversation, where it deserved to be. However, they do also make rather beautiful ladies pieces built from the same ideological basis as their men’s watches; with the utmost class, decorum and craftsmanship that we have come to expect. As such, it is no surprise that the STGF339 is as beautifully well-made as it is. Launched in 2018 as a limited edition of 500 pieces, the STGF339 boasts a 26.5mm stainless steel case with a stainless steel bracelet and an understated domed bezel. While that might seem admittedly under-the-radar, the STGF339 also boasts a stunning Mother-of-Pearl dial with diamond-set hour markers that set the watch off on the wrist and immediately highlight that it is no ordinary ladies watch. Beautifully crafted and delicately made, it is indeed a gorgeous watch that proves Grand Seiko have more about them than just the men’s watches on which they built their reputation.
