Introduction
Founded in 1854 as a watchmaking shop, Gubelin are renowned as one of Switzerland’s most historical, and important, jewellers and watch retailers. While they typically sell the watches of other brands, they have also dabbled in their own timepieces, as we have here with this incredibly unique ladies Cocktail Watch. Boasting a wonderfully unique 32.5mm 18kt yellow gold construction whereby its leather strap passes through itself, this UFO-shaped watch is a decorative piece of functional jewellery thanks to its manual-wind movement driving the hands found on its small silver dial. Featuring proportionally large applied indices, this timepiece is still able to easily tell the time, even with its small dial and show-stopping case construction.

THE DIAL
While its silver dial might be small, the timepiece's large applied hour markers make it easy to read the time.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring a rather unique 18kt yellow gold case construction, whereby its leather strap passes through its case and overlaps its large decorative detailing, this timepiece is a wonderfully unusual piece of functional jewellery.

Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The yellow gold case is well defined with light surface scratches and minor nicks, as expected of a watch of this vintage. Hallmarks and stamps remain sharp and legible. The dial shows some surface marks and damage to the SWISS signature at six o’clock, while the hands are very clean. The crystal has several scratches. It is fitted with a red one-piece alligator strap in like-new condition.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
