Introduction
Long before H. Moser & Cie. became associated with minimalist fumé dials and its more irreverent modern creations, watches such as the Endeavour Mayu established the foundations of the revived manufacture's contemporary identity. Named after Charlotte Mayu, the first wife of company founder Heinrich Moser, the collection combined restrained classical design with impressive in-house movement construction.
The ref. 321.503 is an elegant expression of that philosophy, pairing a 38.8mm 18K yellow gold case with a deep black dial and matching black leather strap. Its restrained display is defined by slender gold feuille hands and applied quarter hours gold markers, with a small-seconds register at six o'clock providing the only interruption to the otherwise minimalist dial. Behind it sits Moser's manually wound HMC 321 movement, offering an impressive 80-hour power reserve and showcasing the traditional movement architecture that helped establish the modern H. Moser & Cie. as a serious independent manufacture.

THE DIAL
The deep black dial provides a dramatic backdrop for the slender gold feuille hands and applied gold quarter hour markers, including the prominent Arabic numeral at 12 o'clock. A small-seconds register at six adds depth and balance while preserving the restrained simplicity for which Moser's early modern watches are known.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Measuring 38.8mm, the three-part 18K yellow gold case combines traditional dress-watch proportions with a contemporary presence on the wrist. Its polished surfaces contrast particularly well with the black dial and matching leather strap, while the sapphire crystal case back reveals the manually wound movement within.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT

Condition
Watch is in overall like-new condition. The 18K yellow gold case shows only light signs of wear or handling. Comes with inner and outer boxes, warranty card, booklet, three hangtags and cloth.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
The Endeavour Mayu captures an important period in the development of the modern H. Moser & Cie., combining accomplished in-house watchmaking with a remarkably restrained design. In this configuration, the contrast between the yellow gold case and stark black dial gives the ref. 321.503 a particularly strong presence, while the beautifully constructed HMC 321 provides much of the watch's appeal on the reverse.
