H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Vantablack 1200-1239

How do I bid? Start here

Introduction

Launched as Moser’s entrant in the arena of casual sports watches, the Pioneer Center Seconds retains Moser’s signature design language while also featuring some details that add utility and give it a sportier feel. Featuring an unbranded and entirely blank black dial, the ref. 3200-1239 uses “Vantablack” paint (which absorbs 99.965% of light) to sit firmly within Moser’s minimalist aesthetic. However, made completely out of stainless steel, its 40mm construction does break from Moser’s typically refined construction style, a fact that is then contrasted by the inclusion of its classical black leather strap. Powered by the stunningly well-finished automatic Moser cal. HMC200 movement on display behind an exhibition caseback, the ref. 3200-1239 features Moser’s stunning craftsmanship inside and out.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

Painted with Vantblack, a pigment coating developed in 2014 by the British company Surrey Nanosystems that absorbs 99.965% of the light that hits it, this example's display is exceptionally unique, yet still within Moser's aesthetic, with its lack of branding or indices.

THE CONSTRUCTION
THE CONSTRUCTION

Made of stainless steel, the Pioneer Center Seconds wears on the wrist with an impressively casual presence that typically wouldn't be associated with Moser due to their association with dress watches.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT

This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.

Condition

The watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case shows some signs of careful wear, with a few marks on the backs of the lugs from a strap change. The case back has crisp engravings around the edge. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a black Moser alligator strap with a steel buckle showing light marks. The watch comes complete with boxes, warranty card, cloth, booklet, and hangtag.

Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.

Our Perspective

An independent watchmaker with as much stylistic flair as they have love of their craft, Moser's ability to create immaculate timepieces that are distinctly theirs is highlighted by the Endeavour Center Seconds and its uniquely dark display. Only Moser would think to use Vantablack for one of their dials, let alone be bold enough to do it.
