Introduction
Perhaps one of the most widely-revered names within the arena of independent watchmaking, H. Moser & Cie have come leaps and bounds since 2005 when they were taken over by the Meylan family. Since then they have built upon a minimalist aesthetic that resonates with collectors looking for something a little unique, much like the Heritage Dual Time ref. 8809-1200 that we have here. In keeping with Moser’s famously understated design language, the Heritage Dual Time’s dial features incredibly subtle branding, with Moser’s logo delicately traced along its burgundy fume dial. Echoing this understated sentiment, the Heritage Dual Time also features a skeletonized dual time hand, and a round stainless steel case that reflects the aesthetic of the early Moser pocket watches that it was inspired by. Contrasting this elegant design language is the Dual Time’s large three-dimensional appliqué Arabic numerals that stand tall from its burgundy dial and inject a sense of modernity to its understated design. Powered by the HMC 809, the Dual Time is a mechanically impressive timepiece that speaks just as highly of Moser’s talents as high-end indie watchmakers as their incredible dials.

THE DIAL
Famed for their incredible dials and minimalist aesthetic, the ref. 8809-1200 lives up to both of those expectations. It features a transparent Moser signature that stands as its only dial inscription, and its beautiful fumé finish provides a truly transformative experience on the wrist as its dial changes color in the light.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Inspired by Moser's early pocket watches, the ref. 8809-1200's round stainless steel case boasts thin lugs that resemble the soldered lugs that were once fitted to pocket watches to convert them to wristwatches.

Our Perspective
By taking their early designs and repurposing them for the modern collector while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic, Moser have really shown us real-life proof that less is indeed more.
