Introduction
Released in 2015, the Pioneer Centre Seconds collection was Moser's earliest entrant into the relatively crowded sports watch space. While Moser's aesthetic had long succeeded in the arena of dress watches, it was never exercised in the sports watch category. So, the Pioneer Centre Seconds gave Moser a vehicle to demonstrate their design and horological prowess on a sports-oriented timepiece, a demonstration that has proven to be wildly successful. Released in 2020, the ‘Mega Cool’ variant we have here is Moser’s latest addition to the Pioneer Centre Seconds collection, and is arguably the most stunning. Evoking the scenery of a tropical island paradise, the Mega Cool's fume Blue Lagoon dial recalls the warm shallow waters found at the beach and the darker, colder waters that await towards the horizon. A gorgeous shade of turquoise, the Mega Cool's dial capitalizes on the watch community's current love of blue and green at the very same time with an extraordinary level of grace and decorum. With its dial-matching turquoise Kevlar strap, the Mega Cool makes quite a significant statement on the wrist while maintaining Moser’s signature minimalist aesthetic and a high level of watchmaking prowess.
