Introduction
Founded in 2004 by husband-and-wife duo Richard and Maria Habring in the small town of Völkermarkt, Austria, Habring2 produces some of the most understated and technically impressive timepieces on the market for their relatively affordable price points. Among their long list of accomplishments is the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) award that their Doppel 2 won in 2012 in the sports watch category, which only goes to show their impressive talents as watchmakers. Further showcasing those talents is the COS Chronograph that we have here. Made of titanium, the COS Chronograph boasts a stunning grey dial with white subdial registers for its chronograph complication. However, rather interestingly, the COS Chronograph’s titanium case does not feature pushers like one would expect on a chronograph. Instead, all of the COS Chronograph’s functions are operated by turning its winding crown. Turn the crown counter clockwise to activate the chronograph, clockwise once to stop it, and clockwise once again to reset it. A novel method of operation, the COS Chronograph showcases Habring2’s abilities and talents as an indie watchmaker in a unique and interesting fashion.

THE DIAL
Boasting a grey dial to match its titanium construction, the COS Chronograph is an understated monochromatic timepiece that allows its watchmaking to do the talking.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Light on the wrist thanks to its titanium case, and smaller than other 42mm chronographs thanks to its lack of pushers, the COS Chronograph is not only technically unusual, but also unlike other chronographs that you might be familiar with.
