Introduction
Introduced in the late 1990s, IWC Schaffhausen's GST collection represented the brand's vision of the modern luxury sports watch. Offered as a chronograph, diver's watch and alarm model, the collection took its name from the three materials in which it was available—Gold, Steel and Titanium. Characterised by clean, functional styling, integrated bracelets and superb everyday wearability, the GST range has quietly become one of IWC's most admired neo-vintage collections.
The GST Alarm stands apart as perhaps the most technically intriguing member of the family. Beneath its understated exterior lies IWC's calibre 917, a heavily reworked version of the highly regarded Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 916, one of the finest automatic mechanical alarm movements ever produced. Housed within a lightweight 40mm titanium case, the movement combines robust everyday reliability with the practicality of a mechanical alarm complication, making the GST Alarm an elegant blend of engineering excellence and purposeful design that remains as compelling today as it was at launch.

The matte black dial reflects IWC's functional design philosophy, with bold luminous hour markers, crisp typography and a discreet red-tipped alarm indicator. The result is a display that prioritises clarity while remaining unmistakably IWC.

Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The titanium case shows a few light surface marks, while the case back retains well-defined engravings. The bezel has some small nicks around the edge and light surface scratches. The dial and hands are near mint. It is fitted with a titanium bracelet showing light surface marks and negligible play between the links. The bracelet is fitted with 16 links and fits approximately a 7” wrist. Comes with an IWC single watch roll.
