Introduction
Famed for their pilots watches and the like, IWC’s history as a watchmaker with a rich history across all spectra of watchmaking is often forgotten, like their dress watches and their more esoteric creations such as the timepiece we have here. Offered with an 18kt yellow gold construction, it features a truly seamless construction from its 30mm wide cushion case all the way along its textured integrated bracelet resulting in a completely cohesive aesthetic that speaks to the eccentric design DNA of the 1970s. Impressively thin, this timepiece is powered by a manual-wind cal. 423 movement and reminds us of IWC’s talents as a watchmaker who dabbled in the more elegant side of watchmaking than they are known for today. Offered with a horizontally-textured champagne dial, this example’s secret is that it features a green Khanjar Dagger at 9 o’clock, as printed by IWC on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman. This request was made so that the receiving watch could either be added to the Royal Family’s collection, or so the watch could be gifted to a foreign dignitary, diplomat or someone of high esteem. Rare and visually distinctive, these types of co-signed dials are extremely collectible and make watches like the example we have here all the more unique and desirable.

THE DIAL
Featuring a champagne golden dial with a green Khanjar Dagger, printed by IWC on special request for the Sultanate of Oman, this example was likely gifted to a person of high esteem, such as a diplomat, dignitary, or someone of very high level of authority. Extremely rare and never offered to the public, these co-signed special order timepieces have become incredibly popular as watch collectors seek the rare, unusual, and exclusive.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring a cohesive aesthetic throughout its case and bracelet, the design of this timepiece's case and bracelet join as one as the case fits within the confines of the gently textured bracelet as it swoops around from one side of the case and over onto the other.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in excellent vintage condition. Case shows oxidation and very minor scratches on the surface. The dial has some light areas of spotting and discoloration as seen in the images. Bracelet fits an approx 8" wrist and has little play.
Our Perspective
A visually distinctive timepiece thanks to its unusual design, this timepiece is already clearly unique, but with its Khanjar dagger dial, it is truly a one of a kind timepiece.
