IWC Pilot's Spitfire Mark XV IW325313 Stainless Steel

How do I bid? Start here

Introduction

Boasting one of watchmaking’s richest back catalogs of iconic models that span decades, IWC have been able to draw from their archives to inspire their modern models, and in the early 2000s they took inspiration from their Mark II from 1948 to launch the Pilot’s Spitfire Mark XV featuring a modernized silver dial boasting applied Arabic numerals, and applied indices at the quarter hours. A modern field watch inspired by a 70-year old mainstay within IWC’s catalog, the IW325313 is a careful balance between a tasteful inspiration and a well-executed and forward-thinking offering from a brand who always seeks to push the envelope.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

Featuring a stepped silver Spitfire dial, the IW325313's bright display is punctuated with applied Arabic numerals and applied indices that bring even more dimensionality to its design.

THE CONSTRUCTION
THE CONSTRUCTION

Offered on the brand's famously over-engineered stainless steel bracelet of the time and featuring a wearable 38mm stainless steel case that is only 10.15mm tall, the IW325313's construction is wearable, rugged, and robust.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
TIMING MACHINE READOUT

This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.

Condition

Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows surface scratches and a couple of small nicks. The case back has well-defined engravings. The dial and hands are near mint. It is fitted with a steel IWC five-link bracelet showing light surface scratches. The bracelet is fitted with 24 links and fits approximately a 7¾” wrist. Comes with inner and outer boxes, warranty card, booklets, and the original sales receipt.

Please note: The watch ticks at time of cataloging, but timekeeping is poor and a service is recommended.

Our Perspective

A robust pilot's watch with a solid construction, impressive historical lineage, and a clean design, these neo-vintage IWC's are becoming quite the catch for collectors who look beyond the usual suspects.
