Introduction
Launched in very late 2013 as an online-only offering, the IWC Pilot Spitfire Chronograph CF3 ref. 3878-08 was created as the third collector’s forum watch created by IWC and offered only to the members of their in-house online collector’s forum, a place where collectors could meet online, discuss the brand, and find out new relating to the watchmaker, their new releases and so on. Limited to just 250 pieces and offered only to the forum’s members, this watch is a vintage-inspired Pilot’s watch with a large 43mm stainless steel case with the brand’s signature construction design such as its guarded pushers, thin bezel, and shapely lugs. Boasting a black dial with fauxtina found across its hour markers and hands, this timepiece is reminiscent of the early pilots watches that helped to grow IWC’s brand and stature within the industry. Powered by the automatic cal. 89365 and featuring a date complication on top of its chronograph functions, this collectable watch is as functional and utilitarian as it is rare and desirable.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows light surface scratches and signs of wear, while the polished bezel also displays some surface scratches. The case back shows signs of wear with well-defined engravings. The dial and hands remain near mint, with a couple of small spots visible on the applied hour marker at three o’clock. It is fitted with a brown leather strap and a steel deployant clasp showing surface scratches. Comes complete with box and papers.
Our Perspective
Pioneering the idea of a brand-led collector's forum, the CF3 was the third Collector's Forum watch, with its limited edition status and low production of just 250 pieces making it a must-have for IWC aficionados.
