Released in 2007, the Jaeger LeCoultre Duomètre’s inspiration came from birds and how nature inspires us to seek the perfect balance. A chronograph with a unique innovation named the “Dual Wing”, the concept was to have two separate sources of power. One source of energy is used for timekeeping, while the second is used for the complications. To realize this concept, JLC gave the Duomètre’s movement two mainsprings with their own gear trains that would then converge into one shared regulating organ. With dedicated sources of power for its timekeeping and complications, the accuracy of the Duomètre is not degraded with the addition of complications as the torque generated is consistent, thus allowing JLC to evolve the Duomètre from the chronograph that they initially released to a wide-ranging collection.
