Introduction
Released in 2007, the Jaeger LeCoultre Duomètre’s inspiration came from birds and how nature inspires us to seek the perfect balance. A chronograph with a unique innovation named the “Dual Wing”, the concept was to have two separate sources of power. One source of energy is used for timekeeping, while the second is used for the complications. To realize this concept, JLC gave the Duomètre’s movement two mainsprings with their own gear trains that would then converge into one shared regulating organ. With dedicated sources of power for its timekeeping and complications, the accuracy of the Duomètre is not degraded with the addition of complications as the torque generated is consistent, thus allowing JLC to evolve the Duomètre from the chronograph that they initially released to a wide-ranging collection. Offered here we have the Duometre Chronograph ref. Q6012421, made of 18kt rose gold and featuring a 42mm diameter, the ref. Q6012421 boasts an impressive partially skeletonized silver dial that reveals its litany of complicated indicators and the mechanics within its manual-wind cal. 380 movement. Featuring the time in hours, minutes, and seconds, the date, a chronograph and a foudroyante capable of displaying 1/6th of a second, we can clearly understand that JLC has devised the Duomètre with the sole purpose of housing complications and providing them with a vehicle for flexing their impressive watchmaking might. As beautiful a watch as it is complicated, the Duomètre shows exactly why JLC is the watchmaker’s watchmaker.

THE DIAL
With its partially skeletonized design, dual power reserve indicators, and litany of complications, the Duometre's display showcases just how complicated the ref. Q6012421 is.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Measuring 42mm in diameter and standing just 13.6mm tall, the 18kt rose gold ref. Q6012421 is a reasonably small package considering the level of watchmaking it features. Boasting a polished exterior across all of its surfaces, it is as stunning on the wrist as it is technically impressive.

Condition
Watch is in overall like-new condition. The rose gold case shows only light signs of wear, with slight marks visible on the bezel and clasp. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes, warranty card and booklets.

Our Perspective
Showcasing your talents as a watchmaker is much harder in today's day and age, given how complicated some timepieces are getting. However, the ref. Q6012421 manages to still wow JLC's collectors with its attention to detail and complication-packed cal. 380 movement.
