Introduction
Debuting in 1992, the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control is a vintage-inspired collection rooted to the 1950s’ aesthetic of old. Launched in 2017 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the timeless collection, the ref. Q1548530 that we have here is a beautifully designed and elegant timepiece that wears extremely well. Measuring 39mm across with a stainless steel case, the Master Control is equally comfortable on the wrist as it is eye-catching with an entirely polished construction and two-tone silver dial as inspired by the 1950s - much like the rest of the Master Control’s aesthetic. Featuring blued steel skeletonized syringe-shaped hands, a centralized second hand, a date window at 3 o’clock and Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9 o’clock, the Master Control’s dial is wonderfully balanced as its various sections are broken up by the indices within the concentrically-brushed chapter ring. Mounted on a leather strap and secured using a deployant clasp, the Master Control is an understated and classical design and this example is a wonderfully preserved celebration of the entire collection.
