Introduction
Launched in 1983 to celebrate Jaeger LeCoultre’s 150th anniversary, the watch that we have here is the Triple Calendar Moonphase ref. 141.010.1 "Série Unique”. Offered as a limited edition collection of just 600 pieces, the example we have here is the very first example, as numbered 001. Designed using the Reverso’s case profile, but without the eponymous reversible case, the ref. 141.010.1 is a 41mm x 24mm 18kt yellow gold rectangular watch with a bright white dial that houses its pointer date display, large moonphase indicator and set of day and month apertures at 12 o’clock – all of which are powered through its manual-wind cal. 486 movement. An impressive watch that is genuinely rare, the ref. 141.010.1 is a watch that even the most astute JLC fans are still discovering, thanks to its low production run and age.

THE DIAL
Boasting a bright white dial with a large pointer date display, a large moonphase indicator and a day and month aperture, the ref. 141.010.1's display is legible and rather unique.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring a 41mm x 24mm 18kt yellow gold rectangular case, the ref. 141.010.1's construction leans on the JLC Reverso's design lnagugae but without the reversible feature, making it a more traditional offring, which aligns with its position as a 150th anniversary model.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The yellow gold case is in excellent condition, with light scratches and nicks on the front and sides. The correctors are in excellent condition. The case back features generally well-defined engravings with some light scratches and wear to the screw heads. There is a pleasing aged patina across the entire case, including the excellent-condition signed winding crown. The white dial is in excellent condition, with some light marks at the edges and a small mark in the inner dial. The hands are clean. The watch is fitted with a black alligator strap in excellent condition with a yellow gold JLC pin buckle, which has crisp hallmarks and is in excellent condition. The watch is accompanied by an extract from the JLC archives and a JLC pouch.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Terrifically rare, splendily designed, and well-executed, the ref. 141.010.1 is an obscure vintage offering that highlights JLC's history as an impressively well capable watchmaker who can create truly special timepieces.
