Launched in late 2023 as a friends and family only offering of just 99 pieces, the Projekt 01 slipped under the radar as a wonderfully unique and interesting offering from the brand new independent watchmaker Kollokium, founded by Amr Sindi, Barth Nussbaumer, and Manuel Emch. Since then, the brand’s timepieces have become incredibly sought-after and garnered the attention they deserve. Going on to be nominated for the GPHG Challenge Category for watches priced at CHF 3,000 or below, the watch world became thoroughly excited about this new brand and so they released subsequent variants. Offered here we have the Variant D, limited to just 299 pieces, with its green seconds hand differentiating it from other variants. Featuring a unique case design with angular lugs and a stepped midcase, the Projekt 01’s design is thoroughly unusual, but its dial is where the magic happens. Created using 468 applied cylindrical markers with hand-painted Grade X1 Super-LumiNova (green emission) on the tips, the Projekt 01’s dial replaces the typically flat dial design with a three-dimensional display whereby the vertical rods bunch together throughout the dial to create traditional hour markers. Aesthetically unique and wonderful, the Projekt 01 has become a champion of independent horology, and with its immense popularity, it is hard to imagine the brand won’t continue to go from strength to strength in the near and distant future.

Watch is in like new condition. There is some sticky residue from a sticker visible along a couple areas of the bezel.
