Introduction
Founded in 2018 as a means for legendary Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka to create serial production pieces, Kurono Tokyo stands as one of the most exciting microbrands in today's watchmaking industry. With Hajime's reputation as an exceptional watchmaker secured from decades of recognition for designing one-off timepieces in close collaboration with his clients, it was never in doubt that his serial production brand would take off. Launched in 2020 following the brand’s meteoric rise through the ranks within the affordable range of independent watchmakers, the watch that we have here is from a limited edition series of just 50 pieces specifically for the Japanese domestic market. Created in collaboration with TicTac, the Japanese watch retailer, the Bullseye uses Kurono’s signature 37mm x 7mm stainless steel case design and automatic Miyota cal. 90S5 movement, but with a twist through its dial. Boasting a silver interior and a black chapter ring, the dial’s design mimics that of a bullseye, hence its name. A rare and stylistically unusual watch, this timepiece speaks to the reasons why Kurono Tokyo was created, so Hajime could extend his reach in the world of watches without the barriers to entry that his higher-end offerings contain.

THE DIAL
Boasting a black chapter ring around its silver central portion, the TicTac Final Edition's display mimics the design of a bullseye, as its name suggests.

THE CONSTRUCTION
At its elegant 37mm diameter, the Bullseye is an incredibly agreeable watch on the wrist for the majority of wrist sizes and quite the breath of fresh air in the modern landscape of larger watches.
