Introduction
Famed for their classical dress watches, Dresden-based watchmaker Lang & Heyne are renowned for their impeccable craftsmanship, attention to detail and traditional aesthetic. Founded in 2001 and boasting an annual production output of just a few hundred pieces, Lang & Heyne have to focus on making the best watches they can. Taking those tenets forward into the latest era of watchmaking, Lang & Heyne’s Friedrich III collection still manages to celebrate what makes Lang & Heyne unique in a market filled with brands competing for limited wrist time, while also being timeless and classical. Sporting a 39.2mm x 10.5mm stainless steel case, the Friedrich III is traditional in execution, but with its triple-lug case design and guarded crown, it is still modern and contemporary in its design. Boasting a blue dial with white Roman numerals, the variant we have here is wonderfully balanced on the wrist. Powered by Lang & Heyne’s in-house manual-wind cal. VI movement, the Friedrich III showcases the watchmaker’s impressive attention to detail with its trigonal bridge and stunning blued screws taking center stage of the beautiful mechanical arrangement that powers the Friedrich III.

Our Perspective
Traditionalism married with modernity in perfect proportions, the Friedrich III reveals the ability of independent watchmakers to strike the perfect balance between the old and new that larger watchmakers fail to achieve time and time again.
