Introduction
There are plenty of high-end watchmakers who create truly stunning pieces of art, but some of the more obscure watchmakers take that level of artistry and add to it in truly mind-blowing ways. One of those watchmakers is Laurent Ferrier. Founded in 2009, Laurent Ferrier produces around 150-200 pieces a year and has grown to become the holy grail of high-end super exclusive watchmaking, with the Galet World Traveller that we have here showcasing everything they have come to stand for. Made of 18kt white gold, its 41mm construction is incredibly luxurious, but in its own understated way with a completely polished surface spanning its domed bezel, sloping lugs, and curvy mid-case. Powered by the automatic cal. LF203.1 it showcases a level of finishing behind its exhibition caseback that is truly spectacular and a beautiful finished solid-gold micro-rotor. However, beyond all of that, the Galet World Traveller we have here is the limited edition Cloisonne Americas variant, limited to just eight pieces. As its name suggests, what makes the Galet World Traveller Cloisonne Americas so special is its cloisonné champlevé enamel dial. Made using an incredibly tedious process, Laurent Ferrier took an 18kt white gold dial and hollowed it out to create the map of Norther America in such a way that they could individually fill in the hollowed-out areas with color to create the beautiful array of greens, yellows, blues and oranges that span its gorgeous dial. An incredibly tricky thing to do correctly as its date and travel-time apertures increase the likelihood of the dial cracking during the manufacturing process, the Galet World Traveller Cloisonne Americas is a masterpiece that only a watchmaker like Laurent Ferrier could create.

THE DIAL
A painstakingly tedious process, the dial is made using cloisonné champlevé enamel which means the dial has to be hollowed out so that each color can be added individually and layered to achieve the various tones of blue, green and yellow that span the dial. Additionally, the dial had to be made in such a way that the apertures for the date and travel-time would not cause cracks to appear during the firing process.

THE MOVEMENT
Famed for their watchmaking credentials, Laurent Ferrier's movements are some of the most finely finished in all of horology, with the cal. LF230.1 standing as a testament to that.

Our Perspective
An incredibly rare watch that showcases one of the most impressive cloisonné champlevé enamel dials in watchmaking, the Galet Traveller World Cloisonne Americas shows exactly why Laurent Ferrier are held in as high regard as they are.
