Founded as a microbrand watchmaker that focuses on producing small scale limited edition timepieces, Laventure have grown from their humble beginnings in 2017 as just another project on Kickstarter into a popular independent watchmaker who now has a handful of releases under its belt that are all becoming more and more popular than the last. Offered here we have Laventure’s Automobile Chronograph that was launched in 2022 as a limited edition of 99 pieces with a proprietary chronograph movement, the Laventure cal. I and unique design that takes direct inspiration from vintage automobile design from the 1960s. With round curves, rounded rectangles and soft lines that make for an appealing aesthetic on the wrist, its 40.5mm stainless steel construction is indeed well executed, however, the Automobile Chronograph’s dial is perhaps the star of the show. Featuring a two-tone sandwich dial with a cream center layered on top of a dark green baseplate that fills its chapte ring, indices and subdials, the Automobile Chronograph’s color scheme is immediately reminiscent of the two-tone interiors found within the automobiles found in the 1960s. With its proprietary movement on display behind a sapphire crystal caseback and its dial fitted underneath a Plexiglas crystal, the Automobile Chronograph marries the best of the modern and vintage worlds of watchmaking and perhaps that’s why we love it so much.

Watch is in like new condition, with little to no signs of wear. Bracelet has been previously sized but removed links are included.

Combining a well-informed and novel design with impressive watchmaking that would normally only be offered by brands much older than Laventure, the Automobile Chronograph is a beautifully executed timepiece that has deserved its recent level of popularity.
