Introduction
Founded as a microbrand watchmaker that focuses on producing small scale limited edition timepieces, Laventure have grown from their humble beginnings in 2017 as just another project on Kickstarter into a popular independent watchmaker who now has a handful of releases under its belt that are all becoming more and more popular than the last. Offered here we have Laventure’s evolution of their GMT model, the Transatlantique II. Launched in 2024 as a limited production release inspired by 1950s transatlantic travel and long haul trips, as its name suggests, like the NYC to Paris route, the Transatlantique II features a stainless steel 38.9mm construction filled with soft lines and gentle curves. Furthermore, it features a beautifully executed matte black dial with a sandwich construction that uses a baseplate providing the Super-LumiNova-powered fauxtina for its round indices. The Transatlantique II’s dial’s color scheme is linked with the luminous fauxtina font in its two-tone green-on-green bezel. Featuring a Plexiglas superdome crystal, the Transatlantique II combines the best of modern watchmaking with vintage aesthetics to create something unique and novel that collectors seemingly can’t get enough of.

THE DIAL
Made using two sandwiched dial layers, the Transatlantique's matte black dial features a genuine level of depth that single-layer dials just cannot replicate thanks to its cutout hour markers.
THE CONSTRUCTION
With its two-tone green-on-green bezel insert perfectly suiting the Transatlantique's brown dial, its entire aesthetic is wonderfully cohesive and filled with an appeal that makes it a fantastic watch to wear.
