Introduction

Established in 1833 in Le Sentier, Switzerland, by Antoine LeCoultre, Jaeger-LeCoultre has a rich heritage of craftsmanship and innovation in the watchmaking industry. Known as the “Watchmaker’s watchmaker,” the brand is known for pioneering inventions such as the Millionometre in 1844, the first instrument capable of measuring microns, and the creation of the Atmos clock in 1928, which runs indefinitely powered by atmospheric changes. In 1903, Jacques-David LeCoultre partnered with Edmond Jaeger, leading to the official formation of Jaeger-LeCoultre. The brand has since produced iconic timepieces like the Reverso, and been famed for their travel clocks like the example that we have here. Speaking to the brand's commitment to combining functionality with elegance, JLC’s travel clocks often feature a compact, foldable design, that make it an ideal travel. Boasting a sturdy leather-bound black case, this example’s worn exterior indicates its vintage nature, long history of use and years on the road. The clock's well-preserved white dial is adorned with bold, legible numerals, characteristic art-deco cathedral hands and an Asprey co-signature just under the power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock which indicates that this travel clock was made for, and originally retailed by, the legendary London-based jeweller.
