Introduction
Founded in 1929, Louis Erard is a brand full of heritage and history who has sold watches under their own name from 1931 onwards. Like so many brands who have made a comeback to the modern era, Louis Erard was acquired in the 1990s and was eventually relaunched in 2003. Now established as a unique independent brand with a their own design language and well-priced high-quality offerings, Louis Erard has built up a passionate customer base that continues to grow on the back of their incredible offerings, much like the Konstantin Chaykin collaboration we have here, the Le Régulateur Time Eater. Released in 2023 as Louis Erard's first collaboration with Konstantin Chaykin, the Le Régulateur Time Eater was designed by Konstantin Chaykin as a reworked version of Louis Erard's Excellence Régulateur and made in Louis Erard's watchmaking workshop in the Jura mountains. With Konstantin Chaykin’s character-inspired design language shining through its cyclops-clad display, the Le Régulateur Time Eater combines a uniquely distinctive design language with a heritage-inspired DNA. Offered as a limited edition of just 178 pieces, the Time Eater features a silver dial with a cyclops monster that uses the hour subdial at 12 o’clcok for its eye and the running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock for its mouth. Boasting a wavy engraved texture across its silver dial and a purple chapter ring, the Time Eater’s display is colorful as well as aesthetically interesting. Powered by the same automatic Sellita cal. SW266-1 movement as the stock version of the Excellence Régulateur that it is based on, the Le Régulateur Time Eater is a familiar watch on the wrist for Louis Erard's collectors, however it is a slightly smaller diameter at 39mm instead of the usual 42mm, giving it even more comfortable proportions that any collector who enjoys a regulator clock or timepiece will appreciate.

THE DIAL
Designed to look like a "grotesque saw-mouthed cyclops" as Konstantin Chaykin puts it, the Le Regulateur Time Eater's silver display takes the Le Regulateur's platform with its two subdials for the hours (at 12) and seconds (at 6) to create an utterly unique display unlike anything else on the market.

THE CONSTRUCTION
While the Le Regulateur was originally inspired by large 19th-century marine chronometers, the Le Regulateur Time Eater measures a more manageable 39mm in diameter, and so retains an on-trend feeling on the wrist as its stainless steel case fits in perfectly with modern sizing standards.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case has light scratches on the polished bezel and case sides. The display case back has very well-defined engravings around the edge, with some light marks. The dial and hands are near-mint. It is fitted with a black leather Louis Erard strap with a steel pin buckle in excellent condition. The watch comes with its box, large pouch, travel pouch, warranty card, card holder, cloth, and other paperwork.
Our Perspective
A wonderfully executed demonstration of two watchmakers' talents, the Le Regulateur Time Eater is a modern interpretation and combination of 19th-century watchmaking with a unique contemporary design ethos that showcases that watchmaking doesn't need to take itself too seriously.
