Having purchased their long-time partner and movement manufacture, La Fabrique du Temps, in 2011, LV’s timepieces have begun to improve at an impressive rate, with the Voyager Tourbillon Volant that we have here standing as proof of that very fact. Powered by the well-finished in-house cal. LV 81 movement, the Voyager Tourbillon Volant features both a micro-rotor and a large tourbillon. Determined to let their design heritage shine through, this tourbillon’s bridge is stylized with a “V” motif which traces its origins to 1901. Invented by Gaston Vuitton, this “V” motif adorned Gaston’s famous Steamer Bag and has become an iconic piece of Louis Vuitton’s design heritage. Linking their older designs from past products with their contemporary timepiece offerings has enabled Louis Vuitton to leverage their history as an iconic fashion brand into their exciting evolution as a watchmaker that is keen to pay attention to detail and continue pushing the boundaries.
