Following the remarkable success of the original M.A.D. 1, Maximilian Büsser expanded the concept in 2025 with an entirely new watch rather than simply another variation on the same theme. Created under the M.A.D. Editions banner—an offshoot of MB&F designed to make the spirit of independent watchmaking more accessible—the M.A.D. 2 retains the creativity and playfulness that made its predecessor such a phenomenon while introducing a fresh design language conceived by renowned watch designer Eric Giroud. Like the original, availability was tightly controlled, with the most exclusive editions reserved for members of the MB&F "Tribe" before wider public releases.

The M.A.D. 2 Orange represents the rarest version of the model, produced exclusively for MB&F's loyal collectors and friends. While adopting a more conventional wristwatch silhouette than the M.A.D. 1, it loses none of the imagination that defines the project. Its animated display, featuring rotating indications orbiting fixed axes beneath a dynamic central winding rotor, offers a captivating interpretation of mechanical timekeeping while remaining unmistakably part of the MB&F universe. It is a watch that demonstrates independent watchmaking need not sacrifice originality in pursuit of accessibility.
