Introduction
Following the remarkable success of the original M.A.D. 1, Maximilian Büsser expanded the concept in 2025 with an entirely new watch conceived by longtime MB&F collaborator Eric Giroud. Rather than revisiting the original design, the M.A.D. 2 pays tribute to Giroud's lifelong passion for the vibrant club culture of the 1990s, drawing inspiration from vinyl records, DJ turntables and the legendary MAD nightclub in Lausanne where he spent much of his youth. The result is a watch that combines playful creativity with serious mechanical engineering, remaining true to the philosophy of making independent watchmaking more accessible.
The M.A.D. 2 REDemption is perhaps the most unusual edition yet. Rather than being offered through the now-famous raffle system, it was reserved exclusively for collectors who had entered at least four previous M.A.D. Editions raffles without success. Produced as a reward for perseverance, it features a striking red dial plate with contrasting black jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs, while its oscillating rotor is engraved with the phrase, "They say I'm stubborn, I'd say persistent." As a result, the REDemption edition is not only exceptionally difficult to obtain, but also carries one of the most personal stories behind any M.A.D. Editions release.

THE DIAL
The vibrant red dial plate immediately distinguishes the REDemption edition from every previous M.A.D. 2. Inspired by the grooves of a vinyl record, the raised central display resembles a DJ turntable, while the black jumping-hour and trailing-minute discs orbit beneath the central rotor. Surrounding the display is a stroboscopic-style chapter ring inspired by the legendary Technics SL-1200 turntable, complete with luminous markers that reinforce the watch's musical inspiration.
THE CONSTRUCTION
The rounded 42mm stainless steel case adopts a pebble-like profile that is both comfortable and contemporary. Twin sapphire crystals allow the distinctive winding rotor to be appreciated from both the front and back, while the rotor itself echoes the platter of a vinyl turntable and carries the exclusive REDemption engraving celebrating the persistence of the collectors for whom this edition was created.
