Introduction
Created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of TimeZone.com, the TZ30 brings together Massena LAB and award-winning independent watchmaker Raúl Pagès in a limited edition of just 30 pieces. The collaboration also continues William Massena's long association with TimeZone, following earlier anniversary watches produced with Habring² for the website's 20th and 21st anniversaries.
Inspired by mid-century observatory watches, the TZ30 pairs a 38.5mm stainless steel case with a vertically brushed blue ombré dial and an unusual small-seconds display at 9 o'clock. More significant still is the proprietary calibre M690, developed collaboratively by Massena LAB and Pagès and produced under the latter's supervision. With extensive hand finishing and Pagès' tiny tortoise-shaped poinçon beneath the balance, the movement gives this understated anniversary edition considerable independent-watchmaking pedigree.

THE DIAL
Inspired by traditional observatory watches, the vertically brushed blue ombré dial shifts from deep sapphire and indigo to brighter azure depending on the light. Rhodium-plated feuille hands and baton indexes provide contrast, while the radially grooved small-seconds register at 9 o'clock is balanced by the "Observatory Precision" inscription at 3.
THE CONSTRUCTION
The 38.5mm stainless steel case takes its proportions and restrained styling from dress watches of the 1940s and 1950s. Measuring just 10mm thick including the sapphire crystal, it features an exhibition case back bearing the TimeZone.com 30th Anniversary engraving and individual limited-edition numbering.
