Introduction
Bursting onto the scene in 2017, Ming has become one of the hottest watch brands in the world. Founded and fully funded by a group of 6 enthusiasts, Ming has built their business model on limited production ‘drops’ whereby it has quickly become the case that their watches sell out almost instantly, and become highly sought-after on the open market, much like this 17.06 Slate. Launched in 2019, the Ming 17.06 features “clean and restrained modern forms” as Ming puts it. Featuring several textures and layers alongside MING’s signature use of Super LumiNova atop its raised chapter ring and Arabic numerals, the 17.06 Slate’s etched anthracite-colored dial is visually intriguing and indicative of MING’s design language. With its variety of textures, the 17.06’s eponymous slate dial creates a gorgeous visual juxtaposition between its polished 316L stainless steel case and pagoda-style lugs and its satin-finished crown, thus allowing the 17.06’s variety of finishes to play off one another. Powered by the quintessential workhorse movement, the ETA 2824-2, MING have modified the movement so that if boasts two crown positions and comes regulated in five different positions.

THE DIAL
Featuring a conglomeration of textures across its three layers, the 17.06's eponymous slate grey dial ties the aesthetic of the entire watch together as its textured center contrasts its brushed periphery, just like its polished case and brushed crown contrast one another too.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Boasting a 38mm diameter and standing just 10mm tall, the 17.06 Slate is an exceptionally comfortable watch, with its pagoda lugs curving down the watch and allowing the strap to follow their path and effortlessly wrap around the wrist.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case shows light signs of wear, with some marks visible on the polished sections, while the dial and hands remain like new. Comes complete with box and papers.
Our Perspective
One of MING's earlier watches and arguably one of their most successful, the 17.06 was instrumental in the brand's early and continued success.
