Introduction

Earning its name through every aspect of its design, the High Art ref. MG-003256 showcases Moritz Grossmann’s mastery of technical and aesthetic design through its fusion of intelligent mechanics and stunning visual details. Beginning with its dial, it features a sterling silver dial that is galvanized blue and then engraved on a rose lathe to create a soleil pattern that radiates out from the center of its running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. Lacking any inscriptions or other distractions, the High Art’s branding and minute track is place upon the back side of its sapphire crystal. Mirroring the same level of detail, the High Art’s 41mm stainless steel case features downturned lugs with spring bar holes that are close to the timepiece’s midcase, allowing its leather strap to wear tight to the watch, and thus create a close wearing experience as its lugs wrap around the wrist. Featuring a pusher at 4 o’clock, the High Art’s complex and stunningly finished manual-wind cal. 100.1 movement’s technical mastery reveals itself. Used to manually restart the hacking seconds after the watch has been reset, this pusher ensures that the time can be set precisely and that the hands don’t move after the crown has been pushed back into the case. Fit with sculptural hands, an artistically-achieved dial and a smart construction, the High Art ref. MG-003256 is perhaps the embodiment of what a modern dress watch is supposed to look like.

THE DIAL
THE DIAL

Made of a solid disk of silver that is then galvanized, the High Art's blue dial is cut on a rose lathe to create a stunning soleil pattern that radiates out from a center point atop the running seconds subdial at 6 o'clock.

THE CONSTRUCTION
THE CONSTRUCTION

Boasting a 11.6mm tall stainless steel construction with a flat domed bezel, and downturned lugs, the High Art is large for a dress watch but it wears rather elegantly thanks to its smart design.
