Introduction
Founded in 1990 following the collapse of the Berlin wall, like a handful of other German watchmakers, Nomos Glashutte has quickly grown into one of the most highly respected watchmakers in the world thanks to their exceptional value for money, eye for detail and steadfast dedication to the Bauhaus school of design. Combining all of those tenets into one watch, like so many of their other models, is the Tangente that we have here. Offered in 2018 as a collaboration with Singapore-based watch retailer The Hour Glass, the “Red Dot” was limited to just 200 pieces split equally across two variants (this midnight blue and a salmon). Made of stainless steel and boasting a perfectly circular case, the Tangente’s 37.5’s diameter is incredibly sleek and wearable. Just 6.75mm tall thanks to its cal. NOMOS Alpha movement, the Tangente emphasises everything Nomos is about, with its understated midnight blue dial lacking any exuberant details that could otherwise detract from its ability to tell the time, besides its beautiful gilt inscriptions. Featuring a single flourish thanks to its bright orange running seconds hand and golden hour and minute hands, the Tangente is a carefully crafted watch whose understated looks deceive the lengthy design process that goes into making a watch appear so effortless.

THE DIAL
Boasting a midnight blue dial, the Tangente is an immediately refined timepiece with a timeless aesthetic as its dial evolves across the color spectrum in different lighting conditions.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Boasting a simple construction with a perfectly circular 37.5mm case with thin straight lugs and a very thin bezel atop its ultra-slim 6.75mm profile, the Tangente is timelessly classical.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case has a few light marks from wear, and the case back is very clean with crisp engravings. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a leather strap and steel buckle, which shows light scratches. The watch comes complete with its box and papers. Watch is a very lucky serial number- 88.
Our Perspective
Making a name for themselves as one of the best value-for-money manufacturers of recent times, the Tangente is a wonderfully constructed timepiece that goes to show precisely why the brand is so highly regarded.
