Introduction
While Omega might be known best for aiding in sending men to the moon and producing watches for everyone’s favorite English spy agent, they have a long history in fine watchmaking that is often overlooked. Mid-century Omega created some exquisite timepieces, much like the ref. CK2410-1 that we have here. Launched in the 1940s and produced all the way through the 1950s, the ref. CK2410-1 has become a watch that Omega collectors cherish and enjoy collecting thanks to all of the different variants out there. Large for its time, the ref. CK2410-1 measures in at 36mm in diameter, thus making it a wonderful watch to wear even in today’s day and age. Known for its incredibly legible chronometer dial, this example boasts an early refinished black dial that features a center seconds hand and Arabic numerals that house beautifully aged radium, which also resides in its hands. Powered by the manual-wind cal. 30 T2 SC RG, this watch is as reliable and robust as it is appealingly understated. Entirely wearable in today’s horological landscape thanks to its distinctly contemporary 36mm diameter case, this timepiece is the perfect option for a collector looking for a vintage timepiece that they can wear and enjoy just like any modern timepiece that they may own.

THE DIAL
Featuring an early refinishing, this example's black dial boasts radium for its Arabic numerals, which allow its large dial to display the time without any confusion.

THE CONSTRUCTION
A massive watch for its time, the CK2410-1's robust 36mm stainless steel case has ensured that it would age well and remain in line with modern sizing standards.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case remains well defined, with surface scratches and marks as expected of a watch of this vintage, while the case back displays scratches around the notches from a case back tool. The dial appears to be a very early refinish, with radium indexes that have aged over time. Dial surface has minor surface wear, with light spotting visble. The alpha style hands are later, and show some spotting, while the lume has darkened. It is fitted with a black leather strap and a steel pin buckle. Please note that the watch ticks at time of cataloging, but it does not keep time. A service is needed.
Our Perspective
An elegant no-frills timepiece spawned from mid-century Omega's sensibilities, the ref. CK2410 has proven to be rather timeless with its large stainless steel case, abundantly legible dial and hardy manual-wind movement.
