Introduction
Released in 1969, the Omega Flightmaster is, somewhat surprisingly, the first wristwatch from Omega explicitly designed with pilots in mind – even though the Speedmaster made its way onto the moon the same year. Sporting a futuristic oval tonneau-shaped case with a colorful dial, the 43mm Flightmaster is a stunning statement piece that has stood the test of time to remain fashionable to this day. While clearly following the space-inspired sci-fi design language of the ‘60s, the Flightmaster is still surprisingly legible, even though it might not seem at first glance. With 5-minute graduations marked at the hour markers with Arabic numerals along its internal bezel, large luminescent hands, a chequered chapter ring, and inset subdials, the Flightmaster compartmentalizes its displays so that they remain quite legible. An iconic piece of Omega design, the Flightmaster remains a collector’s favorite thanks to its unique aesthetic and impressive list of functions.

THE DIAL
Thanks to aging, this example's once-black dial has faded to a dark grey and its subdials have developed a rich golden brown hue.

THE CONSTRUCTION
With its distinctive oval-shaped case featuring a total of five crowns and pushers, the Flightmaster is an immediately recognizable timepiece on the wrist.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in good to very good condition. Subdials have aged to an even chocolate brown color. There is discoloration on the dial, primarily along the track as shown. Luminous on the blue hand is cracked along the edge. Light scratches present on the crystal. Case, bezel, and bracelet have surface abrasions throughout, consistent with moderate wear. Bracelet is sized to fit a 7" wrist.
Our Perspective
An iconic piece of Omega's history that only saw production from 1969 until 1970, the Flightmaster Mk2 was truly ahead of its time with its incredible list of functions and avant-garde design.
