Introduction
Famed for their iconic trio of toolwatches, Omega is a brand known for their ability to produce high-performing timepieces. A result of Omega’s desire to showcase the historic timepiece they have produced that have culminated in the modern success of the brand, the Museum Collection seeks to launch one classic timepiece per year as a limited edition and modern interpretation of what was an important watch back in its day. Offered here as part of that Museum Collection we have the 1945 Officers Watch Chronograph ref. 5702.50.02.Launched in 2003 and produced until 2012 as a limited edition series of just 1945 units, this timepiece is a stainless steel recreation of an early officer’s chronograph. Boasting a black multi-scale dial and a fixed 12-hour bezel, this 37.8mm timepiece is a wonderful snapshot into the types of watches that would once adorn the wrists of soldiers across the globe. Powered by Omega’s manual-wind cal. 3200 movement, this was the third release from Omega’s Museum Collection and it has survived today as one of the more desirable thanks to its low production output and ultimately timeless execution thanks to the enduring popularity of chronographs, and mid-century chronographs like the one that inspired this watch.

THE DIAL
Boasting a black dial with a colorful array of scales that were once used to calculate all manner of things that we now use computers for, the Museum Collection No. 3 reminds us just how far modern technology has come.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows light scratches from wear, with a noticeable dent on the bezel at six, while the rest of the bezel remains excellent. The case back has very well-defined engravings, and the lug back engraving is crisp. The dial and hands are pristine. The watch is fitted with a black leather strap that has the original steel buckle fitted, in excellent condition.
Our Perspective
A valuable insight into the wearing experience of vintage watches from when they were originally made and worn, the Museum Collection has provided an opportunity for collectors to enjoy vintage-inspired timepieces without any of the concessions that older timepieces require of their owners.
