Introduction
Initially released in 1948 and based on watches used by airmen in WWII, the Omega Seamaster has become one of Omega’s best-known collections. Initially, a dress-style watch with thick lugs, the Seamaster was designed to promote daily wear while remaining functional for use in water with 62.5 meters of water resistance. However, the modern Seamaster that we know and love today was born nine years later, in 1957. This was when the Seamaster 300 was released after Omega was inspired to upgrade the Seamaster after they had 50 Seamaster cases with rubber O-ring gaskets tested in 1955, which led them to work with new materials and push their boundaries. Inspired by the same desire to build upon the foundations of the Seamaster before it, Omega launched the Planet Ocean sub-collection in 2005 as their ultimate dive watch. Offered here we have the Planet Ocean 600M ref. 215.92.44.21.99.001 which debuted in 2016. Featuring a 43.5mm grade 5 titnaium case with a grey sandblasted dial and grey ceramic bezel, this large and imposing timepiece offers exceptional timekeeping no matter the circumstance, be it in the water or on land, as the Seamaster collection has always strived to do since its initial launch all those decades ago. With bright orange accents, a tough titanium construction that remains wearable, the Planet Ocean combines Omega’s wearability with their rugged utility, resulting in the ultimate tool watch.

THE DIAL
An unconventional color scheme for a dive watch, the Planet Ocean 600m boasts a grey and orange color combination for its display with its sandblasted dial boasting some orange accents with orange Arabic numerals and an orange 15-minute section on its bezel.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Water resistant to 600m, the Planet Ocean needs to be a large watch so as to protect its internals, and so this incredibly robust timepiece features a 43.5mm titanium case that cuts an imposing figure on the wrist while still being light and wearable.

Condition
The watch is in overall near-mint condition. The titanium case shows light signs of wear on the case sides and case back. The bezel is like new, as are the dial and hands. The rubber strap is in excellent condition with signs of light wear and is fitted with a titanium pin buckle showing light surface marks. The watch comes complete with its boxes, cards, and accessories. Please note that the outer box is broken.
Our Perspective
An intensely robust watch created to level up Omega's extreme dive watch offerings, the Planet Ocean 600m embodies everything the Planet Ocean collection has been about since its debut.
