Introduction
First released in 1957, the Omega Speedmaster was part of Omega’s infamous “Masters” trilogy of tool watches, consisting of the Speedmaster for race car drivers, the Railmaster for railway engineers, scientists, and electricians, and the Seamaster 300 for divers. Launched in 2017 for its 60th anniversary as a launch of 3557 pieces, which this example is part of, the ref. 311.10.39.30.01.001that we have here features a design that is inspired by the original Speedmaster. Boasting a 38.6mm stainless steel construction inspired by the 1957 original, this example is a heritage-inspired modern tool watch embedded in Omega’s ethos as a practical yet stylish watchmaker. Featuring a black dial with an arrow hour hand – which joins the rest of the hands and hour markers decked out with fauxtina – and a stainless steel bezel, this timepiece embraces its vintage aesthetics, while championing modern horology through its manual-wind cal. 1861 movement.

Featuring rather a elegant dauphine hand alongside its arrow-tipped hour hand, the aesthetic of the 1957 trilogy example we have here is a faithful modern interpretation of the original's through its faux patina lume.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Smaller than today's 42mm Speedmaster Professionals thanks to its lack of twisted lyre lugs, crown guard-less design, and 38.6mm diameter, the Speedmaster 1957 Trilogy is a joy to wear, especially given today's smaller sizing standards than those of the last few years.

Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case has some light marks and scuffs from wear but no major scratches, and the case edges remain sharp. The tachymeter bezel is clean with no major nicks. The dial and hands are near-mint, and there are a few scuffs on the crystal. The watch is fitted with a military-style fabric strap with an Omega buckle in excellent condition. It also comes with its steel bracelet and an Omega leather strap, as well as boxes, accessories, guarantee, and tool.
