Introduction
Famed as the watch that was first worn on the moon during the Apollo moon landings, the Omega Speedmaster has long been known as one of watchmaking's most iconic timepieces. However, while its claim to fame is legendary, it was not originally conceived as a watch for space. Instead, it was a watch designed for race car drivers, hence its name. Launched in the 1990s as a luxurious take on a design historically created as tool watch, the Speedmaster Date ref. 3611.20 sports an 18kt yellow gold case with a bright white dial that features case-matching golden hour markers, hands, and inscriptions. THE DIAL
Featuring a bright white dial, this Speedmaster sports a dial arrangement that is not common to the collection, with its subdials found at 12, 6 and 9 and a date aperture at 3 o'clock.
THE CONSTRUCTION
In conjunction with its gold hands, inscriptions, and indices, this stunning timepiece also sports an 18kt yellow gold case and bezel that complete its incredibly luxurious aesthetic.

Condition
The watch is in overall very good condition. The yellow gold case shows surface marks, with a couple of more noticeable nicks on the lugs and case back. The bezel has some marks and small nicks. The hippocampus engraving, serial number, and hallmarks on the rear remain fully legible. The gold plating is wearing off on the winding crown and chronograph pushers. The white dial is excellent, with all lume plots intact, and the hands are clean, with some discoloration in the lume on the minute hand. The watch is fitted with a blue alligator strap and gold plated pin buckle, both in excellent condition.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
