Launched in 2021, the Panerai Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso PAM1074 followed in the footsteps of Panerai’s industry-leading expansion into the world of bronze timepieces that began in 2011. Famed for their historic dive watches, Panerai’s expansion into bronze made sense given the metal’s use in some earlier Panerai prototype dive watches. Recognized as the brand that kickstarted the watch market’s current love of bronze, Panerai are known for their particularly high quality corrosion-resistant bronze alloy made from a blend of copper and tin. Measuring a rather svelte 42mm in diameter (at least by Panerai’s standards) the PAM1074 will fit comfortably on the wrist of most Paneristi. A conscious decision by Panerai, the Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso is offered as a smaller watch to expand Panerai’s offerings to collectors that want to wear their iconic designs in a more palatable package than the hulking cases they have become synonymous with. Featuring its eponymous bronze construction, the Submersible Bronzo Blu Abisso’s Panerai aesthetic is entirely unmistakable as its crown guard and hour markers make it clear who designed this stunning timepiece. Powered by Panerai’s terrific cal. P.900 automatic movement, which is on view behind a titanium sapphire crystal caseback (to prevent allergic reactions), the PAM1074 offers an impressive 3 days of power reserve, ensuring this timepiece is certainly capable of withstanding anything you may throw at it.

Watch is in near-mint condition. The bronze case has aged as intended with surface patina, but shows no major dings or scratches.
Offering Panerai's trend-setting usage of bronze in a 42mm package that many more collectors will be able to fully enjoy, the PAM1074 takes off where its 47mm sibling, the PAM671, left off - a beautiful reminder of Panerai's rich heritage as a dive watch manufacturer while also speaking to the brand's modern sensibilities.
