Founded in 1996 by Michel Parmigiani, thanks to the support of the Sandoz Family Foundation, Parmigiani Fleurier has quickly become one of the quiet giants of exquisite Swiss watchmaking. Thanks to their connection to the Sandoz family, Parmigiani Fleurier has been able to draw from technical resources that rival those of the biggest brands in the business. With access to Vaucher Manufacture, suppliers of movements to Richard Mille, Hermes, and other powerhouse brands, Parmigiani Fleurier certainly has the watchmaking heft behind them to perform just as well on the international stage as anyone else, even if their name isnt as recognisable as some others. Launched in 2021 as an extension of the Tonda GT Chronograph collection, the model we have here is the Tonda GT “Panda” – as nicknamed due to its silver dial that features black subdials. Not looking to do things easily, the Tonda GT Chronograph’s dial also boasts a wonderful blend of textures across its surfaces with its center sporting a clou triangulaire finish alongside concentric circling around its chapter ring. As we examine the Tonda GT’s construction, we uncover fine details such as the finely fluted bezel, the exquisitely finished dial, the texture of its integrated black rubber strap, the automatic cal. Watch is in near-mint overall condition. There is light surface wear on the watch, and some debris trapped between the ridges of the rubber strap.
