Introduction
Famed for their intensely luxurious eye for detail and unparalleled heritage within the watchmaking industry, Patek Philippe has long been at the top of the horology pyramid. While their modern plaudits come from their infamously desirable wristwatches, the brand began life creating pocket watches, much like other watchmakers that began life during the 19th century and before. As such, it is pocket watches, like the example we have here, that drew attention to Patek Philippe’s original legendary aesthetic and unwavering level of craftsmanship. Featuring an 18kt yellow gold construction, a two-tone dial with gold Breguet hands and numerals, intricate black beading along its bezel and an engraved caseback within which its wonderfully finished movement is hidden, this 1929 pocket watch is a stunning example of why Patek Philippe has been widely regarded as one of horology’s best watchmakers for centuries now - a reputation that they certainly have earned and will not lose any time soon.

Condition
Watch is in very good overall condition. The case is worn with age but not overly so. The detailed monogram on the casback as well as the detailed engraving work around the edge of the case are well preserved. The dial is aged namely around the grenee surface surrounding the breguet indexes.
Our Perspective
A beautiful pocket watch inside and out, it is no surprise that Patek Philippe has been regarded as one of horology's best watchmakers when their early 20th century timepieces looked like this.
