Introduction
While regular timepieces such as wristwatches and pocket watches would be the first thing that you would expect a watchmaker like Patek Philippe to produce, they have a more experimental side to them too that they like to showcase from time to time, and what we have here is the direct result of that. Launched in 1989 as a part of their 150th anniversary celebrations, what we have here is a Brooch watch that was created as a limited production run of only 50 pieces. Designed to be worn around the neck and styled with a bowtie, this quartz cal. E15-powered brooch watch is a wonderful testament to Patek’s ability to create off-the-wall timepieces whenever they see fit. Measuring 23mm in diameter and 10cm long, this 18kt Brooch watch is a wonderful conversation starter that isn’t only exceedingly rare, but also exceedingly cool.

THE DIAL
Boasting a bright white dial with Breguet numerals and Breguet hands, this timepiece's display is entirely classical and timeless.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Only 24mm in diameter, the Brooch is a small watch, but given how it is worn on a bowtie around the neck, it makes for the perfect conversation starter that isn't too obnoxious or ostentatious.

THE CHAIN
Removable from its chain, this Brooch can be worn on a regular pocket watch chain and enjoyed in a multitude of ways as a result.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The yellow gold case shows light surface marks and scratches, most notably to the rear. There are some very crisp hallmarks on the case side. The dial and hands remain near mint. The gold chain remains excellent with some light surface scratches present. The watch is attached to a leather bow with a Patek Philippe–signed brooch pin to the rear, showing some signs of wear to the screw heads.
Our Perspective
A unique piece that points to Patek's more fun and experimental side, this Brooch watch is an eclectic timepiece that most seasoned Patek collectors don't even know exists, so grab it while you can.
