Introduction
Famed for their intensely luxurious eye for detail and unparalleled heritage within the watchmaking industry, Patek Philippe has long been at the top of the horology pyramid. While their modern plaudits come from their infamously desirable wristwatches, the brand began life creating pocket watches, much like other watchmakers that began life during the 19th century and before. As such, it is pocket watches, like the example we have here draws attention to Patek Philippe’s original legendary aesthetic and unwavering level of craftsmanship. Featuring an 18kt white gold construction, a stunning white enamel dial with black painted Roman numerals alongside beautiful King Louis XIV hands, and crisp black lettering, this example’s display is a classily executed embodiment of style and decorum. Featuring a fully polished 50mm construction, this example’s hunter case features a hinged caseback for its movement along with a hinged cover for its dial.

THE DIAL
Boasting a large white enamel dial, this example's display is reserved in its execution, with only thin lettering for Patek's branding and thin Roman numerals adorning its surface. Large King Louis XIV hands do add some flair to this understated design, however.

THE MOVEMENT
Powered by the cal. 17-170 movement, this pocket watch features incredible finishing, detailing, and engineering across its bevvy of bridges, plates, and gears.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The white gold hunter case shows light surface scratches and marks consistent with age. There is some wear/damage to the winding crown, with a deep scratch visible as seen in the images. The inner cover displays clear hallmarks, while the inside case back features well-defined, fully legible stamps and hallmarks, protected by a sticker. The white dial is in excellent condition, with a couple of minor cracks along the outer edge beyond the chapter ring. The ornate hands show some natural aging.
Our Perspective
Revealing the depths of Patek's craftsmanship across its entire construction and movement, this pocket watch showcases exactly why Patek's reputation as one of world's finest watchmakers is not something new.
