Introduction
Famed for their incredible array of dress watches, Patek Philippe often wows their collectors with some of the most luxurious and best-constructed timepieces that money can buy. Due to their iconic sports watches and immaculate complicated offerings attracting the most attention these days, their understated vintage offerings have gone relatively under the radar. Perhaps a perfect example of this is the Patek Philippe ref. 3503/5G that we have here. Hailing from 1967, the ref. 3503/5G features a 31mm x 25mm 18kt white gold case with a uniquely textured detailing that covers its entire integrated brick bracelet, made by Jean Pierre Ecoffey. Boasting a bright silver dial that serves to highlight its unique construction, the ref. 3503/5G’s display and construction work is perfect harmony to showcase Patek Philippe’s incredible skill and craftsmanship. Powered by a manual-wind cal. 175, the ref. 3503/5G brings to life the genuine vintage look and feel that so many modern timepieces have tried to emulate thanks to the simple fact that it hails from the period from which today’s designers are drawing their inspiration as they chase the sense of horological delight that timepieces like the ref. 3503/5G radiate in abundance.

Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The white gold case remains well defined, with light scratches and marks as expected for a watch of this vintage. The case back retains its vertical brushed finish, and a crisp hallmark is present on the case side. The Patek Philippe logo winding crown is in excellent condition. The dial shows a few surface marks, while the hands are very clean. The white gold integrated bracelet is in excellent condition, with a well-preserved clasp, and fits an approximately 7¼” wrist. The watch is accompanied by a Patek Philippe Archive Extract.
Our Perspective
A sleek integrated bracelet watch with that cool 1970s feel. The 3503/5G flies under the radar but oozes quiet sophistication. The bracelet is a masterpiece in itself.
