Introduction

Launched in the 1970s and designed as a backup navigational and timekeeping system for ships, the Patek Philippe Naviquartz was originally a true nautical clock. Large and well-built, the Naviquartz soon shifted from its romantic link to seafaring and quickly evolved into an office status symbol. With its dominating mahogany case, metal frame and elegant dial options, the Naviquartz took centre stage on the desks of businessmen across the world as they could flaunt its prominent Patek Philippe branding. Produced in three primary variants, the example we have here is the III variant, as identified by its silver dial. Set within an aluminum frame with Patek Philippe's iconic Calatrava cross and the Naviquartz's own inscription, this example will undoubtedly look great on a desk as it so genuinely deserves to be once again.

Our Perspective

A wonderfully rare table clock from Patek Philippe that seldom reaches the auction block, this Naviquartz represents the historic link that once existed between luxury watchmakers like Patek Philippe and rough and tumble industries like seafaring.
