Introduction
Famed for their intensely luxurious eye for detail and unparalleled heritage within the watchmaking industry, Patek Philippe has long been at the top of the horology pyramid. While their modern plaudits come from their infamously desirable wristwatches, the brand began life creating pocket watches, much like other watchmakers that began life during the 19th century and before. As such, it is pocket watches, like the example we have here draws attention to Patek Philippe’s original legendary aesthetic and unwavering level of craftsmanship. Featuring an 18kt yellow gold construction, a stunning white enamel dial with black painted Breguet numerals alongside beautiful blued steel spade hands, crisp black inscriptions and a sunken subdials at 12 and 6 o’clock for its chronograph functions with a red pulsations scale along its periphery, this example’s display retains a truly timeless aesthetic given how this design has also been seen in wristwatch chronographs decades after its production. Featuring a fully polished 53mm 18kt yellow gold construction, this example’s hunter case features a double for its caseback along with a unique open cover for its dial, which allows its dial to be on display at all times, a design detail taken from its functional nature as a chronograph. Boasting an engraved monogram on its caseback, this example serves to highlight Patek’s incredible reputation as one of horology’s best watchmakers – a reputation that they have earned over the centuries, and a reputation that they will not lose any time soon judging by their constantly improving product line and back-log of truly iconic designs.

THE DIAL
Boasting a stunning white enamel dial, this example's display has three distinct parts: its red pulsations scale, its black hand-painted Breguet numerals, and its smaller black inscriptions, such as the trio of chapter rings that can be found in its two sunken subdials and encircling the main time display itself.

THE MOVEMENT
Powered by a manual-wind 20 lignes movement, this chronograph pocket watch features incredible finishing, detailing, and engineering as it combines perfectly designed brass and steel parts in perfect unison to create a truly impressive horological masterpiece that only continues to impress once you get to grips with the fact this watch was made by hand over 110 years ago.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Pocket watch is in excellent overall condition. Case shows minor superficial wear, with some fine scratches and marks visible along the case. Engravings are all crisp and lean, and the serial number and PP Co stamps on the case are fully visible. There is a monogram on the outer surface of the case as seen in the images. The original enamel dial is near-mint, with no hairlines visible. The Extract of the Archives is included with the watch and confirms both the Breguet indexes and Pulsation scale.
Our Perspective
This watch can literally make your heart stop. It’s sheer beauty and rarity cannot be overstated. First, the dial is one of the rarest configurations of a pulsation dial we have ever seen. It’s a three part dial graduated for pulsations on the outer chapter, hand painted in black and red on white enamel. The massive case is nicely preserved and the recently overhauled movement is ready for you to count the beats per second of a loved one. For the collector of important Patek Philippe chronographs, new and old, this timepiece is not to be overlooked. Accompanied by its Extract from the Archives confirming the original date of sale on May 25, 1920 and an enamel dial with ‘pulsometer scale’.
