Introduction
Steeped in just about every merit and plaudit that a watchmaker could be steeped in, Patek Philippe’s timepieces are known for their beauty, craftsmanship and mechanical exuberance, all of which are on display in the Perpetual Calendar ref. 5136. Offered from 2003 to 2008, the 5136 is the iconic ref. 3945’s more modern sibling featuring conventional styling, more up-to-date mechanics and genuine rarity given its short production run. Boasting modern aesthetic choices, the ref. 5136 comes mounted onto a heavy-set 5 link bracelet with an elegant hidden butterfly clasp – the last metal bracelet to be found in the Calatrava perpetual calendar series which makes for an even more substantive wearing experience than the dainty profile of its predecessor. Boasting a pronounced domed bezel and lug combination to compound upon the fact, the 37mm ref. 5136 pulls no punches. Powered by Patek’s cal. 240/114 self-winding movement featuring a 22kt gold micro-rotor, the ref. 5136 comes equipped with a perpetual calendar, moon-phase indicator and dual time zone – making it a wonderfully useful timepiece, as well as technically excellent. Combining the silver opaline dial with the opulent beauty of 18kt white gold, the 5136G has a gorgeous monochromatic appeal to it that few other watchmakers can perfect like Patek.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in very good overall condition. Case is well worn, with scratches and marks visible on many of the surfaces, most noticeably on the bezel, bracelet and caseback. Dial excellent, with light aging along the PM area of the 9 o'clock subdial. Hands were replaced in a 2021 service, with the service document included. Bracelet has 13 links fitted, with three removable. There are 3 additional links on the side, as well as the original solid second caseback. The watch comes with original guarantee and winder box.
Our Perspective
A rare reference given its short 5-year production span, the ref. 5136 would be collectible simply with its rarity. However, with its stunningly executed dial, impeccable movement and luxurious precious metal bracelet, it has everything a collector could want in a Patek - making it all the more special.
