Introduction
Steeped in just about every merit and plaudit that a watchmaker could be steeped in, Patek Philippe’s timepieces are known for their beauty, craftsmanship and mechanical exuberance, all of which are on display in the Perpetual Calendar ref. 3945. Offered from 1985 to 1998, the ref. 3945 is an icon of Patek Philippe’s haute horological endeavors. Featuring an integrated mesh bracelet along with a perfectly round 36mm case with a stepped bezel and no lugs, it is a watch that combines classical 1970s design aesthetics with serious watchmaking pedigree. Powered by the automatic cal. 240Q movement, it boasts a silver dial with a trio of sunken subdials for its perpetual calendar functions. Produced across two series, delineated by the design of its leap year indicator, this is a second series example as evident by its leap year indicator’s crosshair at 3 o’clock.

THE DIAL
Boasting an opaline silver dial, the ref. 3945R's dial is the perfect match for its 18kt rose gold construction as it combines with its surroundings to create a beautiful monochromatic aesthetic. Additionally, this example is denoted as a second series example by its leap year indicator's crosshair design at 3 o'clock.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Losing the lugs of its sibling, the ref. 3940, the ref. 3945 is famed for its integrated bracelet and resultingly luxurious aesthetic on the wrist.

Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The rose gold case shows light surface marks to the bezel and case sides. The case back retains a partially worn Patek Philippe service sticker. The non-crown side retains fully legible hallmarks and stamps, while the calendar corrector remains in excellent condition. The dial is near mint, with only the smallest mark visible near the 10 o’clock hour marker. All hands are very clean. It is fitted with an integrated rose gold bracelet showing some light surface marks to the clasp. The bracelet has a total length of 8” and fits approximately a 7½” wrist. Comes complete with the inner winder box, outer carton, Certificate of Origin, booklets, paperwork, and setting tool.
