Introduction
Famed for their incredible array of dress watches, Patek Philippe often wows their collectors with some of the most luxurious and best-constructed timepieces that money can buy. Due to their iconic sports watches and immaculate complicated offerings attracting the most attention these days, their understated vintage offerings have gone relatively under the radar in recent times, and so watches like this pre-reference rectangular Tank-style watch from 1928 is the perfect example of that. Boasting a 25.5mm wide two-tone case using 18kt white gold for its majority and 18kt yellow gold for its bezel, this timepiece is intensely classical and understated. Manually-wound and sporting a champagne dial with applied 18kt yellow gold Breguet numerals that have taken on a deep patina thanks to being almost a century old, this timepiece is a true watchmaking time capsule in and of itself.

THE DIAL
Boasting a champagne dial with 18kt yellow gold Breguet numerals that have taken on an appealing layer of oxidization, this timepiece's display is a living testament to its age as a nearly 100-year-old watch

THE CONSTRUCTION
Massive for its time in the late 1920s, this watch features a 25.5mm wide 18kt white and yellow gold case that wears with the poise of many modern watches, with it even being larger than the quintessential Cartier Tank at 23mm wide.

Our Perspective
Showcasing Patek Philippe's innate ability to create truly timeless timepieces, this watch's large size, beautifully executed dial, and angular profile make it perfectly wearable even today, almost 100 years after it was originally made in 1928.
