Introduction
Produced from 1917 to 1932, this ref. 10 is a testament to Patek Philippe's unwavering commitment to timeless elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. Boasting a captivating Art Deco-inspired dial the ref. 10 features large Art Deco-inspired Arabic numerals that exude a sense of distinct charm. Boasting cathedral hands and no markings besides Patek’s own name and a railroad-style minute track, this example’s dial is wonderfully understated. Most notably, the luminescent Arabic numerals were painstakingly hand-painted, which add an enchanting touch to this timepiece. The case of the ref. 10, or the "model 10" as it was referred to at the time, features a large two-piece construction that delicately curves to embrace the contours of the wrist. This elegant design effortlessly presents the time in a bold and confident manner, reflecting the spirit of the "Roaring Twenties" and its exuberant style.
During its production period, the great majority of ref. 10 watches were destined for the American and South American markets, solidifying their status to this day as treasured collector's items sought after by discerning enthusiasts. As a cherished artifact of Patek Philippe's rich history, the ref. 10 stands as a testament to the brand's legacy of horological excellence. A harmonious blend of timeless design and meticulous craftsmanship, it transports its wearer to an era characterized by sophistication and grace, evoking a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for the finer things in life.

Condition
Watch is in good overall condition. Hinged case in 18k wg showing comensiurate wear for a 100 year old watch, with soft well worn edges. Remarkably, the gold hallmarks located near the crown are still intact and visible. The dial is in good condition. It appears that it was originally a sterile dial that someone later printed "PATEK PHILIPPE" on. Radium numerals are intact, there is some surface crackling of the zapon, and there is burn where the hands sat for many years at 10:10. The cathedral hands have luminous that is different in color.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
Unusal to find without sub seconds and even more unusual in 18k WG, this early Ref. 10 is one of the cornerstones of the Patek Philippe brand and one of the earliest and most iconic designs of the dawn of the wristwatch.
