Famed for their incredible array of dress watches, Patek Philippe often wow collectors with some of the most luxurious and best-constructed timepieces that money can buy. Due to their iconic sports watches and immaculate complicated offerings attracting the most attention these days, their vintage offerings have gone relatively under-the-radar. Perhaps a perfect example of this is the Patek Philippe ref. 2566. Hailing from the 1940s, this ref. 2566 features a wonderfully luxurious square-shaped 18kt pink gold case with elaborate Art-Deco-inspired stepped lugs and a uniquely-colored salmon dial with a blend of applied Arabic and sword-shaped hour markers. An incredible timepiece marrying every element of authentic classic luxury watchmaking, the ref. 2566 radiates the vintage aesthetic that so many modern timepieces have tried to emulate, thanks to its genuine pedigree as a timepiece born during the period in which modern watchmakers are drawing their inspiration from as they chase the sense of horological delight that timepieces like the ref. 2566 radiate in abundance.
